In a fashion week that was full of controversy from disgruntled editors and photographers to scheduling conflicts to renegade designers who threw their proverbial fingers up at IMG and the CFDA and opted out of showing at all, it is nice to know that the show did go on. New York Fashion Week: The Shows hitches aside there was some magnificent fashion. From gypsy-inspired Reem Acra to casually chic Greg Lauren to the sensually sophisticated collection of Michael Costello the spring 2016 collections demonstrated that many designers have their fingers on the pulse of where fashion is heading, even if some of the fashion establishment is out of step.
