If you don’t think skis can be a fashion statement, then you didn’t watch the 2014 Winter Olympics or you haven’t been on the slopes in a while. You may be aware of great ski resort fashion from Moncler to Chinti Parker to Perfect Moment, but if you are hitting the slopes your chic ensemble is not complete without fashionable skis. Remember, great fashion is a head to toe look!!

“Traditionally, skiwear has been perceived as quite masculine and sporty, but now brands are realizing there is huge potential in the women’s market for feminine, fashion-forward designs,” explained Natalie Kingham, buying director at the UK–based website Matches, in a wsj.com article. And corresponding to the growing trend of ski gear appealing to both men and women, Black Crows Skis is creating skis that combine innovative technology and fashion-forward sensibility.

For the 2015/2016 season Black Crows Skis is introducing two brand new offerings and five reincarnations, a new shape differentiation, duo-tones and three-dimensional patterns. In this ninth season consumers will experience a new differentiation made between two types of shape, single and double beak, distinguishing skis with a single front rocker and skis with double rocker (front and back). This technical division is incorporated into all four of Black Crows’ categories: big mountain, all terrain, women’s birdie, and touring free bird.

The stand-out newcomers in the ninth collection’s new models are the anima, a big new beast designed for freeriding and backcountry, and the corvusfreebird, a 109mm waist ski intended for touring. The nocta has followed a weight-loss program and evolved into the nocta air weighing in at more than a kilo less per pair, there are also the three new totally-revised camox (birdie, freebird and all-mountain) and the corvus has been given a new flavor with a modern single beak and a half shape.
