Just as the technological world evolves, so does the world of fashion. Revolutionary technology was incorporated into the spring/summer 2013 runway show of Diane Von Furstenburg with Google’s latest augmented glasses, while Russian designer Alexey Sorokin uniquely presented his latest collection Homo Consommatus using multimedia. Major fashion houses from Celine to Givenchy are further acknowledging the widespread appeal of digital prints by incorporating this growing technological trend into their fall/winter and spring/summer collections.
With Instagram, Twitter and Facebook, there is no denying that the world has gone digital. Beautifully constructed pieces are now made to capture of the attention of celebrities and consumers alike by the use of digital graphic images. Celebrities and fashion tastemakers are indulging in the digital prints that are sure to become a major trend for spring/summer 2013. Keira Knightley exudes elegance in a cap-sleeve dress from London-based designer Mary Katrantzou. Vogue Editor-in-chief Anna Wintour gave digital prints a silent nod of approval by wearing a cocktail shirt dress from Celine’s fall 2012 collection.
Digital prints are made for the woman that is unafraid of being the center of attention. Anne Hathaway looked simply charming in a chrome and royal blue silk digital print dress, while singer Kelly Rowland radiates in a Roberto Cavalli dress.
The good news is you don’t have to walk a red carpet to partake in the digital print trend! Celebrities have also been spotted incorporating the print into their everyday style. Jessica Alba looked charismatic when pairing digital print cigarette pants with a leather bomber jacket. Until now tropical print has never looked so chic, Beyonce Knowles opted for digital print pants from Stella McCartney’s 2012 resort collection.
