Fashion News Alert: Cacharel Evolves, Yoko Ono Designs, and Repetto Pirouettes

After appointing Richard Aibert as the new CEO of  Cacharel, there are some major changes being made company wide to  the Parisian brand.

The brand’s name will be changed from Cacharel to Cacharel Paris, debuting the name change in Fall 2013. Another major change to the brand is the plan to drop prices by 30% to 40%.

With  new price points  just off $650, this high quality design label could make a smash hit this coming February.

Yoko Ono Designs

Yoko Ono will be collaborating with Opening Ceremony to create a limited edition menswear line, Entitled Fashions for Men. The inspiration for this limited edition menswear line  is Ono’s sketches for wedding to  former Beatle  John Lennon.

The collection will feature18 different funky looks with prices ranging from $75 to $750. Launching next week, every piece will include a copy of a book featuring Ono’s drawings.

Repetto Pirouettes in a New Direction

The iconic French ballet-slipper brand Repetto has decided to launch their first ready-to-wear collection this month. The ready-to-wear collection is inspired by dancers’ clothing which  includes flowing skirts and stretchy garments.

Emilie Luc-Duc designed this 18-piece collection.

“We see a big enthusiasm for ballet,” Repetto’s chief executive Jean-Marc Gauchet said. “After ballet flats and leather goods, [ready-to-wear] was important to complete the silhouette.”

With this new launch and the addition of two new stores, Repetto hopes company growth will be significant.
