New York Fashion Week (NYFW) is just a couple of weeks away. With that in mind, Gap Inc. is set to take over NYFW with its Encore membership program.

The Encore membership program gives its members access to a rotating lineup of fashion and entertainment experiences, including shows from Alice + Olivia, Grace Ling, Kim Shui, KidSuper, and Sandy Liang, as well as a behind-the-scenes atelier tour with Anna Sui and a Norma Kamali installation. There will also be a daytime dance party hosted by Va$htie and access tickets to one of New York City’s concert residencies, alongside additional experiences still to be announced.

“Encore gives members more value beyond traditional rewards, with access to coveted cultural moments, exclusive drops and experiences they can’t get anywhere else,” said Kevin Meiners, head of loyalty and payments at Gap Inc., as detailed in a fashionnetwork.com article.

“For so many fashion lovers, Fashion Week is something they experience from afar. Encore gives our members a chance to be part of it. And as we build new partnerships, we’ll continue unlocking even more unique experiences for our members. We’re just getting started.”

The last Encore/NYFW event on September 14 is Encore After Hours, an intimate event at Cherry Lane Theatre hosted by Gap Inc. EVP and creative director Zac Posen in partnership with Rolling Stone. The evening will feature special guests, conversation and a live performance from singer-songwriter Gigi Perez.

Slowing down French fast fashion

France is attempted to be more environmentally responsible. On July 8, France passed a law that will hopefully reduce the environment impact of the fashion industry which is encapsulated in fast fashion. This new law imposes a penalty or surcharge placed on garments that are considered fast fashion or fashion that is not worth repairing.

Starting on September 1, French fashion consumers will be encouraged to show more responsibly by not purchasing fast fashion and purchasing garments that they will wear for several seasons. “From September 1, ultra-fast fashion will pay the true price for the damage it causes to the environment, to our businesses, and to our regions,” said Economy Minister Serge Papin on Friday, as reported in fashionnetwork.com. “This is a worthwhile battle, fought alongside committed MPs who championed this legislation and secured its adoption (…). France is the first country in the world to introduce such a scheme.” This new framework specifically targets merchandisers who promote and produce fashion that is easily disposable in particular those online retailers that produce very inexpensive garments.

The French government hopes that this new law will encourage consumers to shop more responsibly and purchase less online merchandise. The penalties for fast fashion and/or non-disposable fashion will range from 25 cents to 12 euros per retail item, before rising to between 2.20 and 19.50 euros in 2030.

FKA Twigs and On continue on and on

The Swiss sports brand On continues its collaboration with British pop singer FKA Twigs. This collaboration began in 2024. This newest collaboration for fall 2026 centers on the theme of ‘regeneration.’

The core element of the fall 2026 collection is the brand’s new Cloudmonster 3 Mule- a slip-on designed specifically for quieter moments and recovery. The fall collection also includes fabrics and relaxed silhouettes feature in pieces such as the Club Collective Full Zip Hoodie, Club Collective Pants, and the Studio Bodysuit.

In previous collections On focused on created sport garments that facilitated movement and training, this collection is a lot quieter with an emphasis on movement as a part of everyday life. FKA Twigs lent her creativity to the fall 2026 campaign. The fall 2026 campaign was realized by Sharma Osborne who used a 1990s VHS aesthetic in this campaign.

The collection goes on sale on August 27 via On’s online shop and through select retail partners.
