The 2021 Tony Awards red carpet was a perfect celebration of Broadway coming back. Bold colors, sparkles, and embroidered silhouettes were everywhere on the red carpet. It is a little bit hard to keep up with Broadway since so many theatregoers have not seen a play or musical in a while due to the COVID-19 health pandemic. So, This Tony Award show captured Broadway from 2019 and 2020. Stars showed up looking theatrical, as was expected.
Here are some of Fashion Reverie’s favorite looks.

Chrissy Teigen and John Legend
Chrissy made a comeback after getting “canceled” on social media in a pretty, pink-ruffled sleeves and shiny silver gown. She wore Ulyana Sergeenko on the red carpet with her husband, John Legend, who performed with the cast of “Ain’t Too Proud the Musical.”

Kristin Chenoweth
Kristin Chenoweth originated the role of Glinda from the Broadway megahit “Wicked” so, Kristin did channel her sense of style with a bright pink tulle Jason Wu gown! Was Kristin conjuring up her character from “Wicked”? Probably!! She did conjure up Glinda signing a duet with Idina Menzel.

Leslie Odom, Jr. and Nicolette Robinson
Odom Jr. walked the red carpet in Celine suit with his wife, Nicolette Robinson in Christian Siriano. They have been setting an example of how a lovely couple walks the carpet as a team.

Jake Gyllenhaal
Nominated for best leading actor in a play for his role in “Sea Wall/A Life,” Jake Gyllenhaal wore a light pink Prada tuxedo with Cartier jewels. This look is what most men should strive for when walking a carpet.

Amber Iman
Amber Iman wore a masterpiece of dramatic silhouettes by Naeem Khan. Embroidery and bold colors made a perfect seasonal transitional red-carpet showstopper. And the cape is perfectly on point when it comes to the latest fashion trends.

Lauren Patton
Her look was bold and rather costume-like. The Thom Browne striped garment was carefully picked for the biggest night on Broadway.

LaChanze
Broadway veteran LaChanze seemed very confident and unique by choosing to wear a jumpsuit to wear on the red carpet. Now, remember if you choose to don a jumpsuit on a red carpet, the jumpsuit has to look incredible. Well, LaChanze looked exactly as expected in a Oyemwen green jumpsuit, incredible!!

Bernadette Peters
Broadway legend Bernadette Peters wore stars for the superstar she is in an off-the-shoulder Bob Mackie gown embellished with stars. She wore the same look in the 1980’s, Bob Mackie revealed in a tweet. If it looks good, why not wear it again. And who would’ve known if Mackie hadn’t tweeted the 80s look.
