Kelima K Bridal Spring 2014

For spring 2014 Kelima K looked to the paintings of Hua Sanchuan, an artist from Zheijang, China. Hua Sanchuan is best known for the paintings in his “Book of 100 Beauties.” Kelima K’s 2014 collection also incorporates the diversity of cultures and female beauty in New York City which was evident in the racial diversity of models and the East meets West images.

Kelima K expresses her point of view through an assemblage of intricate details, craftsmanship and uses of a wide range of fabrics.  Fabrications range for silk charmeuse, bark silk duchess satin, silk organza, chiffon, tulle and lace, all which are traditional fabrics found in bridal wear. However, Kelima K has found a beautiful and innovative way to combine these fabrications, causing consumers and buyers to rethink and re-imagine bridal wear.

Standouts in this spring 2014 collection are Kelima K’s ‘Floating’ dress of silk organza, French lace and tulle, and the ‘Someone Like You’ gown of silk charmeuse with French beaded lace and handmade floral appliques.
