Just in time for chilly temperatures, Converse debuts its 2013 Holiday collection for Chuck Taylor All Star and Jack Purcell. For those Fashion Reverie viewers who assiduously follow our editors’ picks, you are no stranger to Chuck Taylor, and are quite familiar with his contributions to basketball, and his sneaker being the most successful selling sneaker in history. But, whom you may ask is Jack Purcell?
For those consumers who may not be familiar Jack Purcell, Jack Purcell was a Canadian badminton world champion. Purcell also in the mid-1930 designed the canvas and rubber badminton sneaker for B.F. Goodrich. Converse purchased the trademark for this shoe in the 1970s and the sneaker has become one of Converse’s biggest sneaker brands, distinguished by the signature “smile” across the toe.
The Chuck Taylor All Star and Jack Purcell 2013 Holiday Collection infuses warm materials and treatments that are perfect for chilly temperatures. That said; the Chuck Taylor All Star Winterized Collection features the Chuck Taylor classic silhouette with leather and shearling materials to keep feet warm, as well as weather-resistant boots.
While the Chuck Taylor All Star Winterized Collection is ideal for colder months, the Chuck Taylor All Star Rock Craftsmanship Collection incorporates updated hardware and premium leathers, giving a nod to the continuing trend of Punk Chic. This fashion-forward collection allows consumers to easily transition from cool to wintry temperatures, while still expressing their own personal style. And with a color palette that extends from green gecko and purple canvas flower to fiery coral and atomic blue, consumers will be able to mix and match this collection with a variety of items in their wardrobe.

The Jack Purcell Collection keeps consumers stylish with trending camo prints and seasonal colors ideal for the holiday season. Highlights of the collection are the classic Jack Purcell and Jack Purcell Duck Boot in tones of distressed neutrals and eye-catching colors. Premium leather detailing, duck canvas and woven textile in the construction of the sneakers are also great additional features this season.
