Kim and Kanye on the cover of Vogue? Yes, it’s true, and the haters have united.

But, Anna Wintour anticipated the social media outrage before the April issue hit newsstandst!! As Twitter blew up with fashionistas expressing disdain over the cover choice, revealed on Friday, Anna was way ahead of the curve with an editor’s note in the April issue.

Ann stated “part of the pleasure of editing Vogue … is being able to feature those who define the culture at any given moment, who stir things up, whose presence in the world shapes the way it looks and influences the way we see it.”

Enough said. As editor-in-chief, it is Anna’s way or the highway!!

CFDA names Rihanna

2014 is turning out to be a banner fashion year for Rihanna.  According to peoplestylewatch.com, The CFDA has named Rihanna as the 2014 Fashion Icon. This comes on the heels of the pop singer being named the face of Balmain.

The award will be presented to Rihanna at the CFDA Fashion Awards on June 2.  What’s next Rihanna, world domination? Oh, you already have that!!

Scott’s business was sustainable

Though it has been suggested that L’Wren Scott’s fashion brand was headed toward financial ruin, a spokesman for L’Wren Scott has come forward with statements denying those rumors.

“The figures quoted in the media regarding the financial status of LS Fashion Limited are not only highly misleading and inaccurate but also extremely hurtful and disrespectful to the memory of L’Wren Scott,” said a spokesman for the brand.

“Ms. Scott was considering a re-structure of her global business … Her business overall was only seven years old and although some areas of the business had not yet reached their potential, other parts of her business were proving successful.”

L’Wren Scott was 49 years old at the time of her suicide. Funeral details have not been revealed.

Kate Upton’s beauty

Kate Upton has another campaign. Yes, that’s right, another one. It was recently revealed on Instagram that Upton is the new face for Bobbi Brown Cosmetics.

“I’m thrilled to be the face of Bobbi Brown Cosmetics. Bobbi is an American success story—she created a global brand from an idea that women can be beautiful being exactly who they are and I love that,” said Upton as reported on thehuffingtonpost.com.

“Not only is she incredibly beautiful—she is healthy, comfortable in her own skin, has such positive energy, and is a woman who creates her own rules,” explained Brown. Kate Upton’s Bobbi Brown campaign will be released in July.
