Taylor Swift’s Evolving Beauty

Taylor-Swift-009-1600x1200Taylor Swift first appeared on our radio in 2006 with the release of her self-titled album.  By 2008 she became the highest selling country artist with several chart topping hits.  Noted for writing her own lyrics and playing the guitar, Taylor Swift has also been linked to her age appropriate but still glamorous style.

The singer/songwriter soon opted for elegant smooth curls.  This new ‘do elevated her look for a more polished mature image.  With a focus on her black-lined eyes and rosy cheeks, Taylor always looked naturally stunning.

At the 2010 CMT Music Awards in Nashville, Taylor surprised everyone when she traded in her sassy curls for a pin straight style parted on the side.  While she took a different approach to her blonde tresses, Taylor didn’t stray very far from her usual beauty look, with full pink lips and dark rimmed eyes (with shimmery light shadow on the inner corners) to draw attention to her baby blues.  As the year progressed, Taylor changed her look once again, adding bangs.

Trying to play with her look, Ms. Swift was seen out and about on various red carpets with very different styles.  She went old school Hollywood with glamorous golden waves paired with pink shadow and a bright pink pout at the Billboard Music Awards.  For the American Music Awards, she decided to darken her light locks ever so slightly.  Her intricate side pony framed her face and drew attention to her ultra long eyelashes. At the Billboard 6th Annual Woman In Music event, the fringe was back in soft golden layers. Taylor decided to wear an orange based red lipstick, this tomato hue would soon transition into her signature cherry red lips.

2012

At the iHeart Radio Awards, Taylor really played up her retro-glam style with classic soft waves and bangs.  She took it a step further with her blue-toned red lips and thick winged-out eyeliner accompanied by look-at-me lashes.

2014

Playing with the idea of a bob, Taylor pinned up her mane for an elegant short style at the Golden Globe Awards.  Her classic winged eye, red lips, and faux-bob looked chic and stylish.  Happy with the look, she took the plunge and cut off her long hair, posting pictures and videos of the haircut on Instagram for all to see.

Taylor Swift has come along way from that young girl rocking crazy curls and a guitar.  However, her fun loving vintage inspired style offers a fresh approach to an old-fashioned look.  We can’t wait to see what’s next from the young starlet, but for now, take a cue from Taylor and try out a winged eye and bright red lip or ditch the long hair and try your hand at a Taylor-inspired bob.
