New York City police found fashion designer L’Wren Scott dead in her Chelsea apartment at 10:04 this morning. The 47-year old fashion designer’s death was an apparent suicide.
L’Wren Scott’s assistant received a text from Scott around 8:30am requesting her to come to Scott’s Chelsea apartment. When the assistant arrived, Scott’s body was found hanging from a scarf tied to a doorknob. The police arrived around 10:00, and pronounced Scott dead. No foul play is suspected.
L’Wren Scott started her career in fashion as a model, working for Chanel and Thierry Mugler. She launched her first fashion collection in 2006. Michelle Obama, Nicole Kidman, Amy Adams, Sarah Jessica Parker, Angelina Jolie, Madonna, Penelope Cruz, Naomi Campbell, and many other celebrities have worn her designs.
L’Wren Scott was currently dating rock n’roll icon Mick Jagger. Jagger was on tour in Australia at the time of her death.
