France was a place full of happenings last week! From Paris to French Riviera and in between it was hard to keep up with all the fashion, celebrities, weddings and awards. Cannes Film Festival is a very unique and special event. It lasts around ten days and it is the film event we see most international stars. From Fashion Reverie’s point of view it is sort of like a Film Fashion Week.
As a closing of the awards season and a warm up for summer parties Cannes Film Festival gives an indication of what to expect from those domestic and foreign films that have of a creative edge. That said; Fashion Reverie picked some of the most daring and fashion-forward looks from 2014 Cannes Film Festival.

In honor of the Côte d’Azur we start with Louise Roe in Calvin Klein collection. This fitted, royal blue dress with a sexy high, split fits her perfectly. She looks comfortable and appropriately dressed. The dress is perfect for an important evening event followed by a night out. Jessica Chastain went for the same color but an Atelier Versace gown for the premiere of “Relatos Salvajes.”

“Blue Jasmine” Oscar winner Cate Blanchett wore a fantastic fall 2014 Givenchy, with a beaded top and open back. She never fails to impress and always makes it look so easy ruling red carpets.
The great thing about Cannes is that we get to see a wide range of styles. At Cannes you are not limited to just red carpet evening gown attire. Celebs show us how they dress for important luncheons, lounging by the pool or just an evening on a yacht.

Blake Lively was one of the most talked about celebrities during Cannes. We know she is good at picking breathtaking gowns but this time Fashion Reverie picked one of her more “casual” looks. The “Gossip Girl” star looks flawless in Giambattista Valli and our guess is that if she were not an actress she would definitely be a stylist.

Rita Ora is a chameleon when it comes to style as she changes her look constantly. Here she is wearing Roberto Cavalli in peacock colors. She is kicking it back at Belvedere Vodka’s Cannes party.

Izabel Goulart turned heads at Grisogono “Fatale in Cannes” party. In Fashion Reverie’s opinion Izable represented the biggest rose diamond in Elie Saab. We have seen many Elie Saab dresses during the festival but this is a winner!!!

Irina Shayk caused quite a stir in Atelier Versace. When Fashion Reverie first saw this dress on the runway, we assumed it would be worn during Grammys or another big award season red carpet. Irina Shayk chose to flaunt this dress at “The Search” premiere in Cannes. We are a bit conflicted by this look. It is obviously inspired by a harem garment, but is a bit shy of material. Fashion Reverie would rather see it on a celeb with a darker complexion and on a different occasion. Overall, this dress is very unique.

Beige is always a go-to color on the Riviera. Nikole Kidman shows her softer side during a photo shoot, conjuring up Princess Grace. Kidman wears Altuzarra and seems to be enjoying this event.
Spanish diva, Paz Vega also chose being in a similar shape and midi length dress but much dressier and perfectly appropriate for the evening. She is the picture of perfection in Elie Sabb Couture cocktail dress paired with Chopard jewels.

French actress Sonia Rolland made a grand entrance for the premiere of “Timbuktu” in a Zuhair Murad fall 2014 gown. Maroon, sheer, lace gown with a cape detail deserves kudos!!
Sharon Stone opted for maroon rouge and looked très bien braless in Roberto Cavalli. Our jaws dropped at how the penultimate femme fatale Ms. Stone stunned in this look!!
