Most of us, by now, have run out of television shows to watch. The ongoing COVID-19 pandemic has consumers dedicating a lot of time to television series and since we can’t really travel or properly dress up for a party, we must live through our favorite TV characters. That includes on-screen fashion!!
That said; there is some good news!! Netflix, HBO, Hulu, and the several other streaming services, networks, and premium channels have enough new shows already filmed to keep viewers tuning in, at least through the fall 2020 season. Fashion Reverie selected some of the new TV shows and series whose main characters have great style and are often inspiration for an incredible outfit.
Leslie Odom Jr.
“Love in the Time of Corona” – Filmed remotely, this comedy documents stories of people searching for love during the COVID-19 pandemic. This show premieres on Saturday, August 22. Since “Love in the Time of Corona” is filmed remotely and in a natural setting, Fashion Reverie hopes to see Odom in ready-to-wear at-home looks. We are used to seeing him on red carpets, award shows, and on the Broadway stage always looking dapper.
Hilary Swank
“Away” – “Away” premieres in September 2020 with Hilary Swank starring as Emma Green, the commander of an international crew on a dangerous mission to Mars. Swank must leave behind her husband and daughter behind on Earth; sounds interesting. Swank is known for her girl-next-door, minimalist looks, so Fashion Reverie is excited about his new series that will show Hilary Swank in a new light.
Archie Panjabi
“Departure” – This Canadian drama examines the mystery behind the disappearance of Flight 716 and its passengers. Archie Panjabi who you may know from “The Good Wife,” plays one of the main roles. Fashion Reverie is often intrigued by her graceful red carpet looks, hair and makeup. She knows how to look poised and alluring and knows how to flaunt her curves without revealing too much.
Chloë Sevigny
“We Are Who We Are” – This HBO show is set on a United States Army base in Italy with two American teenagers. Starring Jack Dylan Grazer as Fraser and the iconic Chloë Sevigny stars as Fraser’s mum. Chloë is super stylish, even during the COVID-19 pandemic. Chloë has been spotted wearing fashionable matching face masks with her boyfriend and father of her child, art dealer Sinisa Mackovic.
Patrick Dempsey
“Devils” – Patrick ‘McDreamy’ returns to television in a financial conspiracy series where he plays the bad guy. His female fans probably could never see him as anything other than the good doctor from “Grey’s Anatomy”; however, we love his casual, easy fashion sense. Fashion Reverie appreciates that Dempsey cares about the planet. Let’s not forget that he collaborated with the sustainable luxury brand Bleusalt to design his first capsule: Bleusalt X Patrick Dempsey Collection.
Lily Collins
“Emily in Paris” – “Emily in Paris” is the latest Darren Star comedy/drama about a Midwest, American woman who gets her dream job at a marketing firm in Paris. Lily Collins will wear some great outfits in this Netflix series, but we also love her real-time style. Lily always keeps it fun, and youthful. But then again, she is a natural on red carpets since she started her acting career at age two.
Kim Cattrall
“Filthy Rich” – This television series sounds good, doesn’t it? Add Kim Cattrall in a main role as the matriarch of a family left in a mess after the death of their patriarch, a wealthy and well-respected founder of a Christian television network who fathered three children out of wedlock. We can’t wait to see her modest outfits in the show as we remember some of her sexy, colorful outfits from “Sex and the City,” as well as Cattrall’s fun red-carpet looks.
