The Golden Globes marks the beginning of the red-carpet season. Though the Golden Globes occur right after the holiday season, celebrities are not shy about bringing out all the stops with great fashion. It is important for celebs to start the year off on the right foot, demonstrating that they are body fit and can bring the right amount of charm, elegance, and style to major red carpets. And Fashion Reverie was front and center, primed and ready to bring you all the great fashion and not-so great fashion from the 2020 Golden Globes.

Jennifer Lopez usually slays on the red carpet, but this year’s Golden Globe ensemble was not her best moment. The custom-made white Valentino gown with oversized bows was not a good look for J-Lo. Still, Fashion Reverie loves J-Lo—we feature her a lot—so this one faux pas is forgiven.

Another miss of the evening was Laura Dern in a floral Saint Laurent. This look made her look matronly, like a character from “Little House on the Prairie.”

Though Charlize Theron’s look was a risk taker and not her best look, overall the Dior Haute Couture gown worked for Theron because of her modelesque look and pixie haircut.

Who says a plus-size celeb cannot looks good show off her curves on the red carpet? Well, “Dolemite Is My Name’s” Da’Vine Joy Randolph proved that curves and lusciousness are compatible bedfellows on the red carpet by looking delicious in a Christian Siriano pink gown with exposed décolletage and bow-inspired ruffle sleeves. Da’Vine Joy was beautifully accessorized in Lark & Berry’s Flora Diamond Earrings ($6,435) paired with Flora Emerald Detachable Drops in Solid 18K White Gold ($5,193.50.)

Sofia Carson stuns on the red-carpet in a Giambattista Valli pink feathered gown. She is accessorized in Kallati ring and earrings.

Kerry Washington really understands how to mix edgy fashion with more standard looks. Always willing to take a risk on the red carpet, Washington takes a risk in this Altuzarra ensemble, opting for an open blazer and high slit skirt ensemble, baring it all with a crystal rope tying it all together. Kerry Washington tops off this look with Marli New York earrings and ring.

Annika Noni Rose channeled her inner nature goddess at the 2020 BAFTA Tea Party pre-Golden Globe Award ceremony on Saturday, January 4th. She chose Lark & Berry’s green and yellow dainty jewelry designs including Diamond and Emerald Ear Crawler ($513.50), Veto Emerald Open Stackable Ring ($500.50), Veto Yellow Sapphire Open Stackable Ring ($500.50), and Modernist Yellow Sapphire Stackable Ring ($279.50) for a sleek yet stylish look.

Another dramatic miss at the 77th Golden Globes was Gwyneth Paltrow in a diaphanous brown ruffled Fendi gown. This vintage look was a real dippity don’t for Paltrow. There is nothing more to say.

Billy Porter continues to make dramatic statements on the red carpet. At the 2020 Golden Globes Porter donned an Alex Vinash white feathered tuxedo.

Kate Beckinsdale looked radiant in a white pearl Romona Keveza gown with flared skirt and Swarovski crystal belt.

Though Tiffany Haddish looked lovely in a pink Grecian Galia Lahav gown, the look didn’t excite pulses.

Nicole Kidman always stuns on the red carpet, and Kidman is starting off 2020 with a style bang in a red Versace gown with Hanut Singh earrings.

“Tall Grass’ Laysla de Oliveria wore a Galia Lahav asymmetrical dress to the 2020 Golden Globes Instyle afterparty. She is beautifully accessorized with Harry Kotlar earrings and a Goshwara ring.

“Euphoria’s” Sydney Sweeney looked sophisticated and regal in a midnight blue Romona Keveza French net tea-length gown.

“The Real’s” Jeannie Mai set hearts ablaze in a navy blue and green sequined striped gown with Marli New York ring at the 2020 Golden Globes Instyle afterparty.
