Music award shows always renders up unusual and over-the-top garments and stylings. Who can forget Lady Gaga dressed and styled up like Lady Godiva at the 2013 American Music Awards or Nicki Minaj’s papal outfit at the 2012 Grammy Awards. True to form, the 2015 MTV Music Awards was no exception?
Where in recent seasons, some musical artists have opted for more traditional red-carpet fare, the 2015 MTV Awards brought back the irreverent and f**k-the-world, red-carpet fashion. Host Miley Cyrus, in no less than nine outfit changes, rendered up outrageous images of “Barbarella” as evidenced in her Versace red-carpet styling to Jeremy Scott’s strategic plastic and button concoction to a rainbow-flag postage stamp.
Fashion Reverie this week brings our readers some of the more wearable red-carpet fashion from the 2015 VMA’s, as well as a few outstanding celebrity sightings from movie premieres and celebrity-studded events.
Rihanna was pretty pink at the launch of her fragrance, RiRi by Rihanna Fragrance Launch at Macy’s. She topped her pretty-in-pink link with a Mikimoto pearl stand necklace.
Olivia Culpo decided to forego this years VMA’s for instead battled the heat looking smoking hot in her black Guess romper and sunglasses. The selfie pro celebrated Guess Eyewear at the Mondrian Hotel on Sunday.
Elizabeth Banks made the rounds at the recent Venice Film Festival. Banks looked like European royalty in strapless floral gown set off by Sutra emerald earrings and ring on the red carpet at the premiere of “Black Mass.” And Elizabeth Banks wore Borgioni gold diamond rings and Djula rose gold diamond ear jackets while attending the premiere for “Beasts of No Nation.”
Bella Thorne wore a Maria Lucia Hohan dress on the red carpet of the 2015 MTV Video Music Awards. Now, that’s va va voom. Sophia Vegara eat your heart out!!
Vanessa Hudgens looks ethereal and tranquil in a pink organza floral gown. Hudgens also wore a Le Vian diamond bracelet, a Pasquale Bruni rose gold flower cuff and a Casa Reale rose gold diamond bracelet on the red carpet of the 2015 MTV Video Music Awards.
