Fashion Reverie’s Celebrity Fashion Sightings is back!! Now that a lot of the COVID-19 restrictions have been relaxed and celebrity red carpets are on their way back, there are some serious red-carpet fashion to report.
Nothing provides more red-carpet fabulousness than an award’s ceremony. Fashion Reverie starts our celebrity fashion sighting return with the 2021 BET Awards. Celebrities usually let it all hang out at the BET Awards and 2021 was not and exception, even if some of the red-carpet fashion bordered on a bit too much exposure!!
Perhaps, the best look of the BET red carpet was Ciara. Ciara was beautifully attired in crystal-embroidered catsuit from Alexander Vauthier’s spring 2021 Couture collection. She paired this catsuit with matching crystal-embroidered knee-high boots. Ciara always stays fit, so she has the bod to pull off this look.
Taraji Henson hosted the 2021 BET Awards and her red-carpet look fit right into the over-the-top looks on this red carpet. Henson donned a hot pink, black and yellow, high-slit Atelier Versace gown from the Haute Couture summer 2020 collection. This was a whole lot of gown with, perhaps, too many ideas. Better luck next time Taraji!!
Lil Nas X is always a marvel on the red carpet. And Lil Nas X really gave us something to make our eyes pop on the 2021 BET red carpet. Lil Nas X was marvelously dressed in a voluminous blue toile dress by emerging designer Andrea Grossi.
Zendaya’s gown was a tribute to Beyonce’s ‘Crazy in Love’ dress worn to the 2003 BET Awards. The Versace spring 2003 gown looked great on Beyonce in 2003 and looks equally good on Zendaya in 2021. Zendaya is beautifully accessorized in Stuart Weitzman stilettos, as well as yellow Bvlgari diamonds.
Fashion Reverie could not do a red-carpet 2021 BET Awards roundup without including Queen Latifah. Accepting the Lifetime Achievement Award, Queen Latifah looked beautiful in a Christian Siriano ensemble. Queen Latifah proved you can look fabulous at 50 plus!!
Moving on from the 2021 BET Awards, can you believe this is Lady Gaga? Gaga has come a long way from her scene-stealing, red-carpet moments from the early part of this century. Gaga is somewhat subdued, by her standards, in this custom Christian Siriano and a Mark Cross bag in New York City. The statement sleeves are still ala Gaga, but that is about it!!
One of the big red carpets of the week was the premiere of Marvel’s “Black Widow” in the UK. Florence Pugh was sexily attired in a black Miu Miu ensemble. Though the look was sexy, the look didn’t quite make the grade. Good try, though.
And bringing up the fear this week, Gillian Jacobs looked futuristic and fashion-forward in a PH5 fall 2021 dress at the Netflix’s virtual presentation of “Fear Street.”
