Celebrity Style: 2012 Bridal Fashion

What brings more extravagance and glamour than a Hollywood red carpet? Hmm, let me think; maybe a celebrity wedding! This year Hollywood brides spared no expense when selecting the perfect bridal gown for their very special day.

The stunningly beautiful Camila Alves wed Matthew McConaughey in an embellished long-sleeve laced gown in a 72-hour wedding. Alves sought the expertise of a family friend and fellow Brazilian Ducarmo Castelo Branco to design her gown, which was handmade in the bride’s native country by eight seamstresses.

Alves told People Magazine “The dress designer is a longtime family friend of the bride and surprisingly it didn’t take very long to create.”Ducarmo has been making wedding dresses for her entire life. I guess you can say she has been planning this design for over 20 years. I went to Brazil for a day and a half to work on the dress. I left and I just had to trust them. They finished the dress 22 days later.”

The bride accessorized her embellished gown with a Neil Lane headpiece and 10-carat earrings, featuring pear-shaped center diamonds and Stuart Weitzman heels.

One of the most highly anticipated wedding gowns of the season was undoubtedly the gown Anne Hathaway donned for her wedding nuptial. Anne, known for her classic, elegant and simple style went against type and opted for an opulent custom lace Valentino gown. Hathway married beau Adam Shulman in a romantic off-the-shoulder gown designed by Valentino, with a headpiece and cascading veil.

Alec Baldwin’s blushing bride Hilaria Thomas attended Bridal Fashion Week, and immediately fell in love with her dress after seeing it on the runway.  The bride opted for a silk trumpet Amsale cap-sleeve gown that was sleek and sophisticated. She completed her look with white-diamond drop earrings in 18-karat white gold by jeweler de Grisogono.
