Celebrity Style: Coachella Fashion 2024

Every fashionista’s attention has shifted to California for the past two weekends as the 2024 Coachella festival kicked off. Always known for its bohemian fashion and unique looks, Coachella 2024 didn’t disappoint. Although not the same as the original style, the messy buns and flower crowns seem to have drifted away with everyone’s adoration of the Boomerang filter on Instagram. This grungy, hippy-dippy look has been replaced with something more commercialized. A richer, more decadent style that captures the attention of social media.

Both on and off the stage fantastic fashion was found. From Sabrina Carpenter wearing the late Roberto Cavalli, Ice Spice in a full lace bodysuit, and Taylor Swift’s casual look in the crowd, many festival fashion inspirations can be harvested from this two-weekend concert.  If you’re struggling to pick a favorite look, Fashion Reverie’s top ones are below:

Sabrina Carpenter 

It’s no secret that Sabrina Carpenter’s style is the perfect combination of edgy and cute. While she often goes for looks that get her compared to a doll, the artist of the new hit song ‘Espresso’ veered away from pink tones and heart details to embrace Roberto Cavalli’s signature animal print designs. The outfit was custom, with a glittery shirt, mini skirt, and leather snakeskin jacket fitting her like a glove.

Gwen Stefani

This Coachella was one for the ages with pop star Gwen Stefani performing with No Doubt in the first weekend of Coachella. For her onstage performance Gwen killed in a custom mesh punk-inspired jumpsuit. That’s right, she still has it!!

Ice Spice

If you’re lacking in confidence, don’t take inspiration from Ice Spice’s Coachella look because this rapper just proved she’ll wear anything—and look incredible. Pulling out a full festival look from brand I.Am.Gia, Spice wore a sheer black lace body suit Saturday of weekend one and then the pink version the following weekend. She paired off the sultry looks with furry boots of the matching hue. 

Jon Batiste

For his concert, Jon Batiste proved once and for all that pink is a color for everyone. In a stunning pink velvet suit, the artist brought true star power to the stage. This outfit not only uplifted the set and created more energy on stage but also brought about a simplistic air that is seldom seen at Coachella.

Paris Hilton

I’ve already complained about the lack of original Coachella looks recently. What happened to flower crowns and crochet tops and only caring about the music, not the brand events?!

It seems that for Coachella 2024, Paris Hilton thought the same thing. Embracing the original look of the festival with a few 2024 twists—think a cowboy hat and leather gloves– the American internet personality made us all nostalgic for a time when boho chic was the biggest thing to wear to festivals.

Madi Webb

Social media personality Madi Webb made Coachella fashion political this season in two stunning outfits.  Starting strong on Saturday with a sarai-inspired outfit to celebrate her Indian heritage, Webb brought culture to the music festival. The next day, she served up some feminism. In a jumpsuit–topless and covered by disco sequins—her jumpsuit read, ‘f*ck the patriarchy.” Now that’s one way to have your outfits make a statement!                                                                                                                             

Taylor Swift

After dressing up every night of her Eras tour, Taylor Swift relaxed as a listener in the crowd for Ice Spice’s concert. However, that didn’t stop her outfit from making its mark. In cut-off shorts, a simple tank, and a plain black jacket she let her Stella McCartney crossbody bag do the talking. After Swift was spotted with the bag, searches for it went up by 75%—talk about the Taylor Swift effect!
