As the season turn cooler, most of us spend a little more time in front of our television sets. It is also a time when we get to make some new “television friends” because of the plethora of new television shows launched in early fall. Fashion Reverie likes to pay close attention to their amazing stories but we use some of the main ladies and new TV friends as fashion inspiration.
Fashion Reverie has rounded a few main ladies and new friends who have a great sense of style.

Annalise Keating “How to Get Away with Murder”
Viola Davis plays a law professor at a prestigious University in Philadelphia. Not all professors look nerdy, and Annalise in this highly rated TV series proves that point. Her character is confident and intimidating at the same time with a wardrobe that supports this dichotomy. Our thoughts are dominatrix in business suits wit a few fitted leather elements including the burgundy leather jacket she sports in all the promos.

Jane Villanueva “Jane the Virgin”
Gina Rodriguez stars as a hard-working, religious Latina who has vowed to stay a virgin until she is married to her detective boyfriend. Accidentally artificially inseminated by a doctor during a checkup that happens to be a married man and the new owner of the hotel where she is working, Jane consistently gets into wacky situations where family and friends question her commitment to sexual abstinence.
Very girly dressy that are flirty but not too revealing seem to be the style for this character. Think Cynthia Rowley, Nicole Miller and a particularly adventurous situation maybe Juicy Couture or The Row.

Olivia Pope “Scandal”
Portrayed by Kerry Washington and partially based on Judy Smith, Ms. Pope has a unique style that is business attire appropriate but chic and exciting. She doesn’t wear a lot of color and is known for PRADA totes and well-fitted suits. Peplum tops and comfortable coats are yet another must in her closet. Dior, Armani, Valentino, and McQueen are regular in rotation for this “Fashion Gladiator,” and since these pieces are so inspiring The Limited recently launched a fashion line featuring over seventy affordable looks. These looks were created in collaboration with Kerry Washington, costume designer Lyn Paolo and The Limited’s Elliot Staples.

Juliette Barnes “Nashville”
Hayden Panettiere is a feisty country music star in this TV series with a wardrobe that matches her personality and down-home style. Juliette (Hayden) is quite petite and the wardrobe she wears in the show fits her adorably. There are amazing fitted embroidered dresses for her concert performances, some very nice casual looks and great shoes. Pregnant in real life and on the screen, viewers are experiencing a little bit of a shift in her outfits, less revealing but still well fitted.

Natalie Figueroa “Orange Is the New Black”
Alysia Reiner is in charge of a women’s prison. A tough penitentiary is probably the last place you’d expect someone to be well dressed. Well, despite her surroundings Figueroa always looks good. Her style is the expected appropriate office attire but her authoritative attitude, accessories and very high hells keep us interested. It is refreshing to see a well-dressed lady between the prison jumpsuits.

Just for fun, in case you are stuck in the 80’s, explore Beverly Goldberg (Wendy McLendon-Covey) of “The Goldbergs”. No one wears a jumpsuit and high waisted pants and crazy outfits the way she does.
