Are you excited and enthralled about the athleisure wear craze? If you are, then National Sweatpants Day— that happens on January 21—is tailored especially to your fashion style.
And, remember in the US, we like to celebrate a lot of things. From National Secretary’s Day to Groundhog Day to now, National Sweatpants Day, there are many occasions that deserve commendation and celebration.

Still, National Sweatpants Day was borne out of the need to give homage to ‘jogging sweatpants,’ a look considered a fashion faux pas by most. National Sweatpants Day has grown to embrace the comfortable, utilitarian nature of sweatpants and with athleisure wear being a strong trend seen in the collections of some of the industry’s top designers, sweatpants or variations thereof are seeing a viable fashion resurgence.
The athleisure wear trend, athletic clothes that you can wear in non-athletic settings, has been around since 2014. And though some fashion purists believe that athleisure wear is just a fashion cope out by designers kowtowing to youth-oriented consumer markets that want to combine work clothes and work out gear, the trend does not appear to be going anywhere. Particularly, for those consumers that work in some nontraditional, primetime work environments, such as tech industries, media markets, and social media.

Hanro of Switzerland has some great pieces from their spring 2016 collection that work really well for National Sweatpants Day and beyond. In this 30th anniversary year of Hanro of Switzerland’s ‘Seamless’ collection, the brand has some comfortable, luxurious sweatpants that will not put a deep hole in your budget, but are also chic and suggest great style and fit.
From Hanro’s women’s ‘Rosa’ collection in porcelain rose and ivory bead that comes in a crop pant ($115) and long pant ($128) to the men’s ‘Luis’ pant ($160) in grey mélange and black iris, it is not possible to make a bad choice. For more information, go to hanro.usa.com.
