The debut collection of Pickett, a new contemporary clothing brand combines “southern belle chic with modern day dressing,” says founder and creative director Jennifer Pickett. Fashion Reverie has selected Pickett as this week’s editor’s pick because of the brand’s play on girly silhouettes and color palettes that range from shades of pinks, deep purple, bronze overlays, and turquoise to neutral tones of beige, and black. Pickett’s selection separates and ensembles fit nicely into the wardrobe of the consumer who transitioning from whimsical college years to looks that are appropriate for the young fashionista just embarking her career path.
Silhouettes include fit-and-flare dresses and super long tailored pants that can be paired with killer pointy toe stilettos that just peep out under pants. If you are one of those girls that can only take a dosage of sugar and spice and all things nice throw on one of their leather jackets on top of their nude dress to mellow out your ensemble. Standouts in this fall 2014 collection are the mix and match wool patterns in purple and the silk embroidered turquoise peplum top and the floating pink sleeveless dress.

When asked about her inspiration behind this collection, Jennifer, a southern belle from Texas, looks to her mother, aunt and grandmother. Her grandmother, a self taught seamstress, created-one-of-a-kind dresses for her with custom labels that read “Made With Love” which she uses as her own label in tribute to her grandmother.
Jennifer Pickett’s family’s encouragement of her burgeoning talent, a talent influenced by southern gentility and decorum is expressed a collection that is sophisticated with a hint of spicy, come hither. With her clothing line in such specialty boutiques as Harvey Nichols, Made in America and other specialty boutiques, Fashion Reverie champions consumer’s continued love fest with Pickett. Keep spreading the love!!
