Fashion Celebrity Sightings: Week of August 1, 2016

This may not have been a great week of celebrity fashion sightings, unless you include some of the outfits of the athletes in the Opening Ceremony of the Rio Olympics. Some teams were incredibly dapper, while other teams looked a little folksy. But it was all good, because if nothing else the Olympics is about celebrating national pride, understanding that we have more in common with each other than things that are dissimilar.

Olympics a side, First Lady Michelle Obama was resplendent in simple strapless white gown set off by Butani earrings as the Obamas host an Official State Dinner for the Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong of Singapore and his wife Ho Ching on the North Portico of the White House.

Though we have seen a whole lot of Salma Hayek on red carpets as of late, it doesn’t mean that Salma is not busy. Hayek is opinionated and animated as always on “Jimmy Kimmel Live” in a fitted cocktail dress with black lace overlay, accessorized with a Bavna black diamond ring.

Portia Doubleday wore a long-sleeve black and white printed dress with black lace panel detail Antonio Grimaldi dress while attending the 2016 Summer TCA Tour for NBCUniversal & Mr. Robot. Now who wore it best, Portia or the model?

Ariana Grande wore Harry Kotlar diamond earrings and a Mattia Cielo diamond choker onstage at the “Hairspray Live!” panel discussion during the NBCUniversal portion of the 2016 Television Critics Association Summer Tour.

Though the celebrity fashion sightings were sparse this week, Fashion Reverie makes for the scarcity with a look at two 2016 Olympic teams that looked super chic during the Opening Ceremonies of the Rio Olympics. Ralph Lauren did the American Olympic team proud with stylish blue blazers paired with red, white, and blue tee shirts underneath. And Manolo Blahnik made the Cuban Olympic team look sophisticated and fashionable in tailored red blazers and matching white shorts.
