Is Zac Posen heir apparent to the house of Charles James? If persisting rumor are correct, Zac Posen alongside Georgina Chapman will revive the revered maison de Charles James.
“Zac is in the tradition of one of the grandest dressmakers like Charles James. He loves the female body, and he knows every trick in the trade to highlight every curve so you feel sensationally sexy and feminine in his clothes, but in a very refined and tasteful way,” Amy Fine Collins told The Daily.
Acquired by movie mogul Harvey Weinstein after the Met’s exhibition of James’ work, Charles James’s ball gown aesthetic is just the thing that Hollywood adores. Still, Weinstein’s company will not confirm the appointment. “Reports that Zac Posen has been chosen to join the creative team in relaunching the Charles James fashion brand are not confirmed. We have no further information at this time.”
McQueen and Waplington
Alexander McQueen’s final collection will form the basis for the collaboration between McQueen and photographer Nick Waplington in photo exhibit that comes to London this month. The exhibit will showcase 130 never-before-seen photographs of McQueen’s working progress.
Waplington was given exclusive behind-the-scene access to McQueen’s fall 2009 “Horn of Plenty” collection that was conceived as a retrospective of McQueen’s career. The catwalk of McQueen’s historic last show contained broken glass and thrown-away elements of sets from previous shows.
This photo exhibit has been timed to coincide with the Victoria and Albert Museum’s “Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty” fashion exhibition. “Nick Waplington/Alexander McQueen: Working Process” will run from March 10 – May 17 at Tate Britain London.
ANTM contestant found dead
Cycle 21 “America’s Next Top Model” contestant Mirjana Puhar was shot dead in home along with two other men as she opened the door to two robbers. Nineteen-year old Emmanuel Jesus Rangel has been charged with three counts of first-degree murder.
According to authorities, police found seven rounds of ammunition, knives, drugs, a safe deposit box, and several cell phones. Detectives have confirmed the triple homicide was drug related.
“ANTM” host Tyra Banks expressed that she was “deeply saddened” by the death of Mirjana Puhar.
