joseph-altuzarra-fpe0067400_article_gallery_portraitJoseph Altuzarra is the latest designer to design a collection for the affordable megastore Target. Altuzarra follows in the footprints of Peter Pilotto, Anna Sui, and Isaac Mizrahi.

“As a designer, I believe firmly in the transformative power of fashion. It has the ability to not only change how you look, but also how you feel,” Altuzarra told The Telegraph. “I’ve admired the elegance that Target brings to fast fashion. By working together on this capsule collection, we hope to instill a sense of power, confidence, and beauty in women everywhere.”

Joseph Altuzarra’s collection for Target will be comprised of over 50 pieces that will include ready-to-wear garments, footwear, and accessories with prices ranging from $17.99 to $89.99. The collection is due to launch in Target on September 14 in Canada and the US.

Lopez’s New Love

Jennifer Lopez has a new love; a new boyfriend in her new music video that is. Supermodel David Gandy plays Lopez’s love interest in her new music video for single First Love, from her new album AKA.

“I can’t be too specific about the video at this point as it’s not out yet, but I play her love interest,” Gandy told vogue.co.uk. “I’ve been asked if I’d take part in music videos before and I’ve always said no, but I jumped at the chance of working with a music icon such as Jennifer. The conditions to shoot in were very challenging due to the weather—we were in the desert outside LA and the winds were incredibly strong and we had to deal with plummeting temperatures and sandstorms—but the atmosphere on set was great and we all had a lot of fun.”

Though Gandy is still the face of Dolce Gabbana, he has a couple of film projects lined up. “I have the largest project of my career happening later this year,” he revealed. “I can’t say much at the moment, but we are working heavily on that right now.”

Doctor Louboutin

As a part of its 2014 commencement ceremony, Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) honored famed footwear designer Christian Louboutin with an honorary Doctorate of Fine Arts.

“I have three words,” stated Louboutin, “friendship, freedom, and keep your doors open.” Also in his speech Louboutin talked about the importance of having more than one dream and taking advantage of every opportunity.
