John Galliano’s 2011 anti-Semitic scandal continues to sizzle and pop; well, at least in Israel. Moran Mazor, Israel’s representative at Eurovision 2013 was barred by the Israel Broadcasting Authority (IBA) from wearing Galliano at the annual spring singing competition.Yoav Ginai of the IBA stated “In a period of rampant racism and anti-Semitism in Europe, [he] is denied the right to dress or join as an Israeli representative to Eurovision, even if he has ‘apologized.'”
Mazor’s stylist had reached out to several European designers to dress the Israeli singer for her appearance at the Eurovision competition. Galliano responded positively about creating a garment for Mazor.
Abe Foxman of the Anti-Defamation League took a different stance than the IBA. “The Israel Broadcasting Authority must realize that this is a changed man—[Galliano] has consistently shown us that he is taking steps to understand and grow from his mistakes and at this point, to continue to boycott him is not constructive,” Foxman told The Cut.

Ralph Rucci Embraces Change

Lately, name changes seem to be the order of the day. From YSL’s name change to Saint Laurent to PPR’s name switch to Kering, revamping a brand may even include a revamp of the brand’s recognizable moniker.
Change is not new to Chado Ralph Rucci. In March of this year, Chado Ralph Rucci launched a home goods collection. In 2012, the brand hired Jeffrey Aronsson as its CEO. And amid financial woes, Chado Ralph Rucci for the past few seasons has managed to present brilliant collections during New York’s Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week.
The newest change to the company is the change of the brand’s name from Chado Ralph Rucci to Ralph Rucci. Originally, launched in 1981 as Ralph Rucci, the brand was renamed in 1994 as Chado Ralph Rucci after the intricate Japanese tea ceremony which relates to the intricate detailing evidenced in the collections. “”The start of a new chapter toward securing Ralph Rucci’s place as the global American luxury brand and business,” Aronsson told WWD.
