Karl Lagerfeld had teamed up with Mattel to create the Karl Lagerfeld Barbie.
In a sketch released by Mattel, the Karl Lagerfeld Barbie will consist of fingerless leather gloves; oversized black tie, white shirt, sunglasses, jewelry, and an XXL silver necklace, as well as Lagerfeld’s signature white hair. “It’s not every day that Barbie dresses like the world’s most famous fashion designer,” said Kim Culmone, vice president of global product design for Barbie.
The Karl Lagerfeld Barbie will be released this fall worldwide.

Macy’s “shop-and-frisk” backfires
Macy’s Inc., the city of New York, and Rob Brown of HBO’s “Treme” have settled a federal discrimination lawsuit that was a part of a “shop-and-frisk” controversy over racial profiling in NYC.
In November of 2013, Rob Brown sued Macy’s Inc. and the city of New York after being handcuffed by three men he believed to be undercover policemen after he purchased a $1,300 gold Movado watch for his mother in June of the same year. The alleged policemen accused him of credit card fraud, paraded the handcuffed actor through the store and keep him in a detainment cell where they mocked him for over an hour.
Brown sued for false imprisonment, assault and battery, negligent hiring and civil rights violations and was seeking unspecified money damages. “Our company strictly prohibits discrimination of any kind and has zero tolerance for racial profiling,” Macy’s said in a statement.
On last Wednesday, U.S. District Judge Lorna Schofield dismissed the case due a settlement in principle between parties. The state attorney general has launched an investigation into similar cases of “shop-and-frisk” in Barney’s, Macy’s and other NYC retailers.
