Antonio and Gianni

It appears that Antonio Banderas is really down with Method Acting.  Slated to play Gianni Versace in an upcoming movie, Banderas as reported here over the weekend has been taking design courses at the esteemed design school Central Saint Martins in London. The film will be directed by Dane Bille August with production set to start in March 2016.

“I love fashion. To play Gianni Versace’s role will be fantastic. His life was an incredible story, considering where he started from, as well as his tragic ending,” announced Banderas to local press in Italy at the Ischia Global Film & Music Fest.

Fashion and basketball

New York Fashion Week (NYFW) and the Harlem Globetrotters may seem like strange bedfellows, but then who said all fashion collaborations are natural progressions? At any rate, the Harlem Globetrotters have teamed up with fashion personality Angela Simmons for a fashion presentation in honor of the Harlem Globetrotters 90th anniversary tour.

“Ever since I was a little girl, I’ve loved the Harlem Globetrotters—especially their winning track record,” said Simmons in a fashionmag.com article. “My goal for this collection was to reimagine the look of the legendary Globetrotters uniforms by infusing elements of the team’s rich 90-year history with New York City vibes and basketball-inspired swagger.”

The Harlem Globetrotters/Angela Simmons presentation will be a part of Style 360 during NYFW. Style 360 is in its 11th year and is now sponsored by KIA and US Weekly.

“Fashion Police” revamped

The “Fashion Police” is back. But, do you really care?

Without Joan Rivers and Kelly Osborne some fashion pundits contend that the revamped “Fashion Police” is a mere shadow of its irreverent self. Melissa Rivers, previously an executive producer of the show, takes her mother’s place as a judging panelist. On Monday, guests judging panelists were NeNe Leakes and Margaret Cho as “Fashion Police” gave the 411 on MTV’s “Video Music Awards”.

“Yeah, it’s been a little bit of a crazy year around here. And, well, I’m still cleaning up messes,” admits Melissa Rivers in a washingtonpost.com article  … “But the good news is “Fashion Police” is back!”

Time will tell!!
