Designer Phillip Lim has teamed up with writer John Ostrander and Star Wars artist Jan Duursema to put together a comic book to parallel Lim’s Fall 2012 collection, Kill the Night.
“The Fall 2012 collection is inspired by the spirit of comic books such as Sin City and V for Vendetta and the neo-noir heroines who embody it. The comic book became the natural medium to tell this story,” press releases state.
The comic officially launches on September 6th – a.k.a Fashion’s Night Out. 3.1 Phillip Lim shoppers that night will receive a signed copy with their purchases both in store and online.
Top designers join model search
Naomi Campbell is set to start filming her new model search reality show, The Face, in New York City next month.
Campbell now has the help of two top designers, Marc Jacobs and Zac Posen, to find the next modeling sensation. The reality show will also include models Karolina Kurkova and Coco Rocha to evaluate the aspiring talent.
The main prize is a contract to become the face of a major fashion brand. Although the show is not set to air until 2013, this all-star fashion cast is sure to turn heads.
Will.i.am collaborates with Coca-Cola
Will.i.am of the Black Eyed Peas is collaborating with Coca-Cola Company to launch an eco-friendly fashion line featuring clothing and accessories.
The eco-friendly line, Ekocycle, strives on awareness of the importance to recycle and to make products more sustainable. The brand is set to launch an exclusive pair of headphones with Beats by Dre in the fall.
“People can recycle, take action, inspire others, and then go to Ekocycle.com to look at the products and even suggest products that they might like to see,” says Will.i.am during a news conference.
A collection of caps featuring Ekocycle partnered with New Era is set to launch in 2013.
