Lauren Bacall Exhibition

Award-winning actress, model and style icon Lauren Bacall passed away on August 12. And in tribute to her contributions to film and fashion, Valerie Steele, director of The Museum at FIT will curate an exhibition dedicated to Bacall in 2015.

When asked if she donate personal garments to the exhibition, Bacall told Steele, “Yes, it’s fine, as long as it’s high-quality—Diana Vreeland style,’ recalls Valerie Steele. “Bacall gave FIT roughly 700 garments,” continues Steele.

The Bacall exhibition will center mostly on her looks from the 1950s and 60s. With clothes from Norman Norrell, Yves Saint Laurent, Ungaro, Marc Bohan for Christian Dior, and Pierre Cardin.
