Fashion Reverie’s 2022 Oscar Red-Carpet Fashion Predictions

Well, we are a few days away from the 94th Academy Awards and we are learning more details. There will be three presenters, all ladies, Regina Hall, Amy Schumer, and Wanda Sykes. They will co-host the ceremony, unlike the past three years where the Academy Awards were held without hosts.

Halle Bailey, Sean “Diddy” Combs, Kevin Costner, Jamie Lee Curtis, Anthony Hopkins, Samuel L. Jackson are just a few presenters we expect to see. The Oscars will be held on Sunday, March 27, at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles. 

Even though we are not sure how many folks have seen movies that are nominated, we are sure a lot of people will tune in to watch the red carpet. What are some of the dresses we would like celebrities to wear for the biggest night in Hollywood? Fashion Reverie has some predictions.

Dior Spring 2022 Haute Couture Collection

Dior is a must at the Oscars; therefore, we picked a simple design with a twist. This white dress deserves a closer look with a beaded fishnet-like neckline. Kristen Stewart, nominated for an actress in a leading role in “Spencer” could pull this look off quite well. 

Off-White High Fashion 

Asymmetrical bodice extended into a plisse tulle skirt is a look perhaps someone like Jessica Chastain, who is nominated for “The Eyes of Tammy Faye.” should embrace. Because of the simple nude color of the fabric with some shades of what seems to be green, this gown is timeless and would look good on a redhead. 

Fendi Spring 2022 Haute Couture

This gown is truly gorgeous and would be ideal for someone who could bring out some energy and shake up the classic, modest silhouette. Ariana DeBose would look perfect in it, especially spiced up with her a mohawk-inspired hairstyle. 

Chanel Haute Couture 

Another brand we always see at the Oscars, so our best bet is Penelope Cruz, nominated for an actress in a leading role for “Parallel Mothers” will be wearing Chanel. She usually sticks to classic black and white or all black; however, we would dare Penelope to try a sheer, pastel yellow daisies dress. It would not be the usual chic approach but fun.

Valentino 

Olivia Colman, nominated for a leading actress for her role in “The Lost Daughter,” loves fashion. She plays with colors and shapes, so this Valentino look is a great fit. What would make a difference is Colman having bare shoulders, paired with light green opera gloves. Perfect, yet different. 

Viktor & Rolf

This dress is for an already established celebrity whose talent overshadows any red-carpet gown. It is also photographable with bold color, embraces spring 2022, and is age appropriate that many women can feel comfortable wearing at any stage of her life. We would like to see Dame Judy Dench wear this red-carpet look, minus the unusual runway look of hunched shoulders. Dench is nominated for best supporting actress for her role in “Belfast.”  

Elie Saab 

This Elie Saab collection had so many Oscar-worthy pieces; however, this gown has a lovely silhouette, and the fabric is so opulent. Now we know the fashion industry is trying to be all inclusive; however, to walk the carpet in this look, you must have a long, slim figure, and a bust size that won’t require a ton of “invisible” tape.  Fortunately for Elie Saab, Nicole Kidman is nominated for a leading role in “Being the Ricardos” and would look absolutely marvelous in Elie Saab. 

 Dior Men’s Tailoring collection

Javier Bardem is nominated for an actor in a leading role for “Being the Ricardos,” and it would be amazing to see him in Dior Men’s Tailoring collection. Dior Creative Director Kim Jones passionately continues to reinvent tailoring with a sense of a modern twist and even though we see most of the jackets on a slim body frame, Javier would bring some drama to it, quite literally.
