Fashion Reverie’s Academy Awards 2014 Red Carpet Predictions

Academy_Awards_2014_predictions_Lupita1The Academy Awards is the biggest and the brightest night not only for fashionistas and fans of the red carpet, but it is the highest symbol of approval from the film industry. Having an invitation to the Academy Awards puts you in a certain class and you must deliver a stunning red-carpet look. Until we see who will takes home “Oscar, the small muscular man,” let’s consider what Fashion Reverie thinks our favorite celebrities should wear!

Let’s start with actresses nominated for Best Actress in a leading role:

Amy Adams is a beautiful woman, but so far she hasn’t made the best-dressed list. Hopefully, she will step up her game at this year’s Academy Awards. The only advice Fashion Reverie has for her is to stay away from her “American Hustle” costumes and go for something more angelic. Our suggestion is a very classy Elie Saab. This beaded, long gown seems appropriate for this innocent looking actress.

Cate Blanchett is full of surprises.  The“Blue Jasmine “ star is unpredictable when it comes to red carpet choices and she always nails it!  We can truly say, she knows what fits her best. This season she wore sexy black lace and a baby pink Givenchy. Fashion Reverie’s lucky guess would be Armani Prive sheer, embroiled midnight blue gown from Couture 2014 collection.  After all she needs to represent the color of her film nomination!!

Sandra Bullock has been “gravitating; hint, hint” towards color blocking lately. She always brings an upbeat energy to the awards.  Fashion Reverie thinks she has done a great job at previous awards shows, but it is time to go for something a little different. Fashion Reverie thinks she would look gorgeous in Valentino!!! This dress would not only show her lovely curves, but it would also bring out her wild side.

Meryl Streep is a legend and she wears her earned Hollywood status well. However, sometimes Streep prefers not to pay too much attention to her red-carpet wardrobe. We would love to see her in an opulent Alexis Mabille Couture.  She would look like the Hollywood royalty she is.

Known for her tough women role, Lady Judi Dench is also very feminine with a special kind of spark. Judi take our breath away in classic Armani Prive!!

Now on to one of the most anticipated categories, Best Supporting Actress:

First-time Oscar nominee Sally Hawkins says she is not big on fashion and dressing up.  Fashion Reverie had to give this Brit some serious consideration as we thought what would work best for Sally Hawkins.  As Fashion Reverie was getting familiar with her style, it became obvious that fitted dresses that show off her curves are not the answer. Giambattista Valli has made a dress that would make Hawkins look like a very special lady while keeping her comfortable and somewhat casual.

Everyone by now knows that Jennifer Lawrence will be wearing Christian Dior. Fashion Reverie didn’t notice anything that Lawrence would wear from the latest Couture collection but it would be nice to see her in a bright red vintage or perhaps a gown that Dior made just for her!

Lately, Julia Roberts has gone in for comfortable red-carpet attire. Whether wearing a shirt or pants to the red carpet, she still remains glamorous.  If it wasn’t for the recent tragedy in her family we would put her in a more colorful dress. Instead, we are going for a simple Donna Karan black gown.

June Squibb is a somewhat of a late bloomer since she didn’t pursue her acting career until in her 60’s. Still, she could definitely blossom in Naeem Khan!

Lupita Nyong’o has blinded us all with her personality, her style, and her talent.  The life of the party, director’s dream and every designer’s desired model we all anxiously await her look at the 86th Annual Academy Awards . There are so many gowns she could wear that Fashion Reverie had to pick three for this special lady. Elie Saab, Zac Posen, and Atelier Versace could all live up to the challenge of making Lupita look fantastic!!

So, Fashion Reverie readers, did we do a good job with our predictions? We would love to hear from you and get your feedback!!
