Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Spring 2014 Preview

Is it that time, again? It seems not long ago fashion editors and industry professionals witnessed Betsey Johnson’s comeback without the constraints of her former investors,  the Punk Chic trend, illusions and cutouts suitably and strategically placed in fall/winter garments, and the rich, deep colors and fabrics ideal for frosty, wintry days, all expressed through the collections for fall/winter 2013-2014.

In this spring/summer 2014 outing expect a return to monochromatic neutrals from head to toe, bowing to the continued trend of season-less color palettes.  Consumers should also take notice of boxy tops that span the fashion gamut of retro to utilitarian to futuristic silhouettes. Though fitted slacks and trousers have been the order of the day for several seasons, for spring/summer 2014, new wide-legged pants with featured pleats and cuffed hems will make a re-appearance.

Over 90 designers will present their spring/summer 2014 collections at Lincoln Center. And as always, Fashion Reverie will give its readers a first-hand bird’s eye view into the upcoming trends, color palettes, emerging designers and new faces strutting catwalks from September 5 through September 12.
