As Fashion Weeks continue in Milan and Paris, industry insiders predict which models or celebrities will win fall 2015 campaigns. That said; Tommy Hilfiger is way ahead of the pack. In fact, his choice of the global ambassador for his men’s underwear and tailored collections was announced way before he showed recently during Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week fall 2015.
In December 2014 Hilfiger announced that tennis sensation Rafael Nadal would be the global ambassador for his underwear campaign and tailored collections for fall 2015. Though the 16–time Grand Slam winner hasn’t had much success with recent grand slams—he was sidelined by an injury for the US Open in September and the Australian Open 2015—he’s still a force to be reckoned with on tennis courts. And now with his acquisition of Tommy Hilfiger’s 2015 campaigns, Nadal joins the like of David Beckham, Andy Roddick, Michael Phelps, Ryan Lochte, and Christiano Ronaldo, as wells as other athletes that have become front for international clothing brands. Still this is not the first for Nadal at the rodeo, so to speak, in 2011 Nadal was the model of choice for Emporio Armani underwear campaigns.

“Rafael Nadal has been a longtime personal friend and supporter of our brand, and I’m continuously inspired by his dedication and passion for his sport,” said Tommy Hilfiger. “This exclusive partnership brings one of the greatest athletes of this generation into our Tommy family. Rafael embodies an effortless sense of style that exemplifies and reflects our brand spirit—he’s confident, fun and cool.”
According to a WWD article Hilfiger ’s tailored collections shall include but not be limited to suits, sport coats, ties and furnishing. The tailored and underwear collections will be sold at select Tommy Hilfiger stores and online at tommy.com.
Whenever he wears a suit, he’ll wear our suit. All of our suits are now elevated. We have new fabrics and details and all sorts of innovation. The styles are for comfort and a man on the go,” says Hilfiger in a WWD article.
The campaigns are due to be photographed in Spain in mid-2015. The campaigns are estimated to be valued at $3 to $4 million dollars.
