In case you are not aware New York Fashion Week (NYFW) fall 2022 season is just a few days away!! Like the past few fashion weeks, this fashion week will be a hybrid fashion week.
No longer an experiment based on the current health pandemic, global fashion week is now a necessity. At NYFW masks are mandatory as well as documentation of COVID-19 vaccines and booster shots for staff and models. Recent COVID-19 negative tests or COVID-19 vaccines are necessary for attendance to NYFW. And because of this many fashion designers/brands are opting for digital presentations.
Opting not to show at fashion weeks is something that many brands have adopted for several seasons. In late January, Tom Ford decided not to show at NYFW fall 2022 season. Versace opted out showing during men’s fashion week in Europe and Thom Browne cancelled his show at NYFW.
Still, other brands shoulder on. NYFW stalwarts Christian Siriano, Brandon Maxwell, Prabal Gurung, Proenza Schouler, Carolina Herrera, The Blonds, Gabriella Hearst, Cynthia Rowley, Jason Wu, Alice + Olivia, Eckhaus Latta, Altuzarra, Son Jung Wan, and Herve Leger will present live shows. Bibhu Mohapatra, Anna Sui, Anne Klein, Pamella Roland, N. Hoolywood, Badgley Mischka, Vivian Hu, and Dennis Basso have chosen digital presentations for the fall 2022 collections.
Fashion Reverie will be front and center bringing our viewers all the goings-on at NYFW. Hopefully, this will be the last season of hybrid shows because nothing substitutes for live shows. Keep your fingers crossed!!
