Celebrity fashion collaborations appear to be the order of the day. From Pharrell Williams and G-Star Raw to Stephanie Pratt and MeMe London to the recent collaboration between Ja Rule and Steve Madden, the synergy between celebrity culture and fashion is now stronger than ever.
Though some celebrity fashion collaborations resemble private licensing with the celebrity having a limited voice in the design, construction, and creative perspective of the collection, some celebrities take a much more active role. Nicky Hilton is one such celebrity.
Nicky Hilton is no stranger to the fashion industry. Though she does not have a degree in fashion, she has taken courses at Parsons School of Design and the Fashion Institute of Technology. In 2004, Nicky Hilton launched her own fashion line. She has also designed a line of handbags for the Japanese company, Samantha Thavasa. In 2007, she launched a second fashion line, Nicholai, which showed a 2007/2008 collection during Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in NYC. Additionally, Nicky Hilton launched a 10-piece collection for eLuxe.

In other words, Nicky Hilton has paid her dues. With all this fashion experience, it is no surprise that Nicky would team up with Southern Calfornia–based luxury handbag and accessories goods company, linea pelle.
“I grew up with linea pelle belts and handbags in my wardrobe. It was a natural choice to work together on this new collaboration … I’m really pleased with how the collection has turned out. Each piece is stylish and practical for everyday. I try to always design timeless pieces that women will have in their wardrobes for years to come,” explained Nicky Hilton.
And on why linea pelle chose to collaborate with Nicky Hilton on the fall 2015 collection, Donna Katz Basso of linea pelle explains, “I’ve always admired Nicky’s sense of style; she has such an impeccable way of always looking so effortless. linea pelle is a brand that focuses on contemporary luxe handbag and belt design, celebrating Southern California’s casual vibe, so it seemed natural to form a collaboration with Nicky Hilton since she exudes a fashion lifestyle our customer base can relate to. Nicky’s style is not contrived and she’s not afraid to take fashion risks; the linea pelle woman is strong, independent and has her own individual style.”

With a resume that speaks leagues above the track record of some celebrities associated with fashion brands, Nicky Hilton is primed to add another fashion and style accomplishment to her growing list of fashion ventures. And with her recent marriage to James Rothschild, scion of the wealthy Rothschild banking and finance family, Nicky Hilton is destined for greatness. Then again, she always was.
