Hark how the bells, sweet silver bells, all seem to say, throw cares away.
— Lyrics by Peter Wilhousky
You guessed it; it’s that time of year again. That time of year when temperatures drop dramatically, stores overstock with shiny, sparkling items that attract and tantalize the senses, and the streets of Manhattan become over packed with tourists, all signaling the onset of the Holiday season.
It is also the time of the year when department stores unveil their holiday windows. And no city decorates their holiday windows with more wow factor than New York City.
The unveiling of the holiday windows at Bergdorf Goodman is an annual feast for the eyes that not only conjures up images of fantasy and rapture but also detail fashion trends for fall/winter 2014. This particular season, David Hoey, Bergdorf Goodman’s Senior Director of Visual Display looked to “The Arts” for inspiration for this season’s windows.
Fashion Reverie was given the unique opportunity to attend the unveiling of the Bergdorf Goodman holiday windows and chat with David Hoey, Bergdorf Goodman Senior Vice President Linda Fargo, and Broadway star Nikki James. And we have it all for you on video. Enjoy!!
