Lanvin revelation

Lanvin executive management called a public hearing of Lanvin staff at a Parisian district court as Lanvin staff employees demanded transparency and answer for the dismissal of creative director Alber Elbaz. Elbaz after 14 years was let go from his post at Lanvin on October 28.

Elbaz was seen as the creative force that helped rejuvenate the iconic fashion house founded in 1889 by Jeanne Lanvin. Until Elbaz joined Lanvin as creative director, Lanvin had seen a decline in profits for over 30 years.

At the hearings it was revealed that Lanvin had experienced a vitalization creatively and financially under the helm of Elbaz; however, in recent years Lanvin’s revenues had fallen over three years period from 235 million euros to 203 million euros.

Also Elbaz’s severance package came to light at these public hearings. Elbaz’s severance package could amount to 20 to 40 million euros.
